My
husband and I were finally ready to adopt our first animal after we
bought our home in March 2010. We decided to go to Petsmart one Saturday
knowing there were adoptions going on through APAWS. We arrived and saw
many adorable dogs. We were looking for a large dog, and thought we did
not want a puppy. However, my husband spotted Duchess, and said, "She
looks cute." We took her home for the week, and fell in love. Not only
was she well behaved, and knew her commands, but she was the most
energetic, affectionate puppy. We made the adoption final and as we got
to know her, our bond with her grew. She has the most lively, funny, and
sweet personality I have ever seen in a dog. We renamed her Bella, and
it suited her well. About four months later, we realized Bella, still
being a puppy, needed a friend to keep her company. We decided that
since we had had such a wonderful experience with adopting Bella, we
would go to
Petsmart again when APAWS had their adoption day. We
arrived and immediately noticed the docile, sweet-natured Chance. We
took him home, and were a little unsure at first because he was
extremely shy, especially with my husband. However, by the end of the
week he had blossomed into a sweet cuddle dog, and a wonderful playmate
for Bella. They are the perfect pets, and companions. They make us
smile, and laugh everyday. We have recommended APAWS to all we have come
in contact with that were interested in adopting an animal. We are
truly grateful to both foster parents that did such an amazing job
rescuing, and rehabilitating our pets. They are truly heroes, and we
would not be so blessed with our two babies without them. Thanks APAWS,
